How to Choose an Aircraft Broker or Buyer’s Agent

The level of knowledge, service and dedication shown by a professional aircraft brokerage firm can easily make a huge difference in the outcome of the transaction for both the buyer and the seller. Some brokers have flying backgrounds, valuable sales experience, and large infrastructures to support their operations … and some don’t.

But don’t let any of these things fool you. Flying experience doesn't necessarily translate into transaction or business expertise, sales experience doesn’t mean they know anything about airplanes, and the size of the support operation does not indicate the level of service you’ll receive. Plus, a large commission doesn’t mean you’ll get extra attention any more than small commissions mean you’ll save money. In short, due diligence is critical and you may well find the best match for you is not across the airport but across the country.
