By Marc Dickensheets One of our clients showed us his Stearman while we were shooting video and pictures of another airplane he is selling with WildBlue. As I looked at the Stearman I started thinking about the Steven Coonts book, Canibal Queen. While reading that book something occurred to me. The Canibal Queen is the name of a 1942 Stearman biplane and is named such because the Stearman has conventional gear and is prone to ground looping if you don't stay ahead of it until it comes to a stop. In other words, the Cannibal Queen will bite you in the butt if you're not careful! Just like the Cannibal Queen, or any other aircraft for that matter, if you don't know what you're doing or if you don't stay on top of things, the process of selling an airplane can hurt if you're not completely focused on the task at hand. The endless number of tire-kickers, foreign buyers, and time-wasters can really wear you down and you too will experience the Cannibal Queen's bite. |
